Hi, I’m Joe!

I joined Sandy Bear in March 2026 as the Bereavement Coordinator for Carmarthenshire. In my role, I’m passionate about supporting people as they navigate and understand their grief, helping people to develop positive ways to process their experiences while honouring and remembering their special person.

Before joining Sandy Bear, I studied Outdoor Adventure Education in Devon, where I developed a strong love for the outdoors, whether that’s trekking through hills and mountains or taking part in other adventurous activities. I went on to work in a forest school, supporting children with a range of additional learning needs, behavioural challenges, and trauma backgrounds. With classrooms that often had no more than three walls, it was a truly immersive experience in both nature and education!

Alongside this, I’ve also worked in mechanics and hospitality, which has given me a diverse skill set and a practical, hands-on approach to my work.

Outside of work, I spend lots of time at the beach walking Coral, our golden retriever puppy, usually trying to stop her from eating all the shells! I’m also proud to represent Wales in Lacrosse and have competed in tournaments across the UK and Europe.

I’m really excited to be part of Sandy Bear and look forward to building meaningful relationships and seeing where this journey takes me.
