Samantha Lewis
Family Support Worker- Swansea
Hi, I’m Samantha,
I started my journey with Sandy Bear as a volunteer back in 2024, before becoming a Family Support Worker with the charity at the end of 2025 thanks to funding from the 4N;cky Foundation. From the very beginning, I could see the difference this support makes for children and families during some of their most difficult times.
My passion for working with bereavement support is rooted in my own close experiences of loss, which has shown me how powerful compassionate and understanding support can truly be. It is a privilege to walk alongside children and families, and I am honoured to be part of something that truly makes a difference.
Alongside my role, I am trainee counsellor under the BACP currently completing my level 5 foundation degree in counselling and psychotherapy. I am also completing my placement with another charity close to my heart which is based in the Swansea area, and I am committed to offering a safe and empathetic space for those I support.
When I’m not working, I spend a lot of time studying or gardening. You will usually find me outdoors in nature, with my partner and our dog Snowy. I also love to cook and being creative, but most of all I love spending time/being an auntie to my amazing nieces and nephews.
