Assistant Bereavement Practitioner

Are you experienced in working with bereaved children and young people? Are you looking for a new challenge in a varied and exciting

role?

Sandy Bear Children’s Bereavement Charity believe that every child and young person should have the opportunity to thrive and to be the very best that they can be in the most challenging of circumstances - the death of a significant loved one. We achieve this by working closely with children, young people and families, providing them with therapeutic, evidence-based support to help them through their grief; and by educating relevant professionals to know what to do when they are dealing with bereavement. We are looking for an experienced and talented individual who has an interest in the work of our charity, using their skills to help our service grow. Working closely alongside our Clinical Leads and Charity Development Lead, you will support bereaved children, young people and families whilst helping to develop the future of our service.

What will you be doing?

Embedding our service as a source of advice and support for families and professionals Delivering our child and teenage bereavement group support programme and alongside these deliver the bereavement support group for parents/carers Liaising with external agencies, sharing expertise and resources effectively Empowering other professionals offering advice, resources and support Assisting the Clinical and Charity Development Leads in the strategic and operational development of the service in Pembrokeshire and beyond

We recognise skills and experience are transferable We welcome job share applications and requests for flexible working patterns We are based in Pembrokeshire and work in Pembrokeshire at present We welcome new ways of thinking about how we work The role is Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week (initial 2-year contract) though for the right candidate, we would be willing to discuss this. Salary £27,000 - £32,500, commensurate with experience.
