General Information

Sandy Bear exist to provide bereavement and pre-bereavement support to children, young people, and their families. We work through telephone and face to face support, and with 1:1, family, and peer group support groups where appropriate and funding allows.

We are committed to fulfil our mission that all children, wherever they reside in Wales, should be able to access the right support, at the right time in the lead up to or following a bereavement.

For the successful candidates we offer full training and support to induct you and help you on your Sandy Bear journey. As well as line management and team support, we offer clinical supervision and keen to support personal development with additional training.

Due to the nature of these roles and the rurality of the areas, candidates will require access to a vehicle and the ability to travel.

Community Fundraising Officer- South Wales

As our work across South Wales grows in demand, Sandy Bear must grow our income to ensure we are able to continue to support children and young people when and where they need us most.

Our community fundraiser for South Wales will work with the Area Lead and their team to develop fundraising activity and opportunities for people to support our work in a range of ways from individual giving, challenges and events, through to sponsorship and other activities which raise awareness of the charity, though predominantly support us with income which can be used to support young people and families now, and in the future.

Fundraising Officer South Wales

Bereavement Coordinator – South Wales (Swansea Focus)

Sandy Bear have an exciting opportunity to join our team working across South Wales. This role will work predominantly across Swansea, though some support elsewhere will at times be required in person and online.

This role will join our existing team working in Swansea and led by the Area Lead. It will form an integral part of our work in not only supporting children, young people, and families, but also in keeping up to date with the local community, ensuring we offer the best support and work closely with other agencies.

The role is offered on a full-time basis, though we may be open to slightly reduced hours (Ideally no less than 4 days/30hrs, this could be spread across a whole week)

Bereavement Coordinator South Wales

Business Support Officer- Narberth

Sandy Bear is constantly evolving to ensure we provide the best support possible with the resources available to us as a charity. We are currently recruiting a Business Support Officer to support our team keep on track and run as smoothly as possible so we can focus on what’s important, working with our families.

This role would suit someone looking for a full-time administrative role with the opportunity to support and learn about different areas of our work and how to run a charity. We are keen to hear from those with the right attitude and aptitude rather than formal qualifications being required, though the ability to manage IT and web-based systems is a must.

A diverse role including working alongside and supporting volunteers, general administrative functions, and elements of fundraising, Marketing and PR can be developed depending on the candidate.

Whether a school leaver (18yrs+) looking for their first role, or somebody wanting to use existing skills within an organisation that makes a difference we are keen to hear from you.
